My previous post seems to have stirred up a lot of discussion. Inappropriate medical care is more appropriate to say when and if they start doing screening tests for patients... who is to interpret these tests and who will apply the proper disease management protocols? Retail pharmacies are not centers for disease management but are retail stores that procure products.

From Today's Wall Street Journal:
It took two years and thousands of moldy broths for Akira Endo to find something that reduces cholesterol. His breakthrough, drawn from a mold like one that grows on oranges, turned out to be the first in a class of medicines that today brings $25 billion a year to pharmaceutical companies.
The fungal byproduct that Dr. Endo originally discovered shares the same basic chemical structure as three of the biggest-selling anticholesterol drugs: Zocor, Pravachol and Mevacor

I see this as a threat to our specialty with Nurse Practioner(NPs) and Physician Assistant (PAs) staffed walk-in clinics at the corner CVS pharmacy. I heard that Walmart is close to signing on with Minute Clinic so they can send their employees there for cost containment purposes.
Should we boycott CVS pharmacies and inform our patients that we will no longer fill their prescriptions at all CVS locations? How should we respond?
Not only is this down the street from my office but it also competes directly with our urgent care. This will impact our business!!!!
just purchased a pair of these....
